• In 2004, in partnership with a local entrepreneur, joined with NAI Global, to form NAI Rio Grande Valley.
• Trained and directed the team to achieve $150,000,000 in closed commercial real estate transactions in less than four years.
• Manage three regional offices in McAllen, Harlingen and Brownsville with 7 licensed realtors.
1997-2004 Former associate and President for NAI Rioco Realty Services, the predecessor to NAI RIO GRANDE VALLEY.
Contemporaneously with the above, Mike formed The Michael J. Blum Company in 1988. It was created to promote development of the South Texas Border Region and to provide a wide assortment of planning, real estate and development consulting services to business, industry and government. MJBCO was a service bureau for data gathering, research assistance and expert analysis on a wide variety of regional, economic and demographic issues. 1989-1991 President of First City Development Services Group, a division of First City Bancorporation of America created to promote development of the South Texas Border Region.
1979-1988 Director of Planning/Partner, MBA Architecture Group, a Rio Grande Valley based in-house planning and design firm for Valcon Construction Company.

Participated in $8.8 million of real estate transactions in 2000, including the sale of 140Ksf of manufacturing facility and leasing of more than 300Ksf of warehouse and distribution space.
In 2001-2004 brokered $10million transaction in McAllen involving the sale of a 100Ksf Bank office building and a $2.8 million transaction involving the sale of a Retail/warehouse for conversion into temperature controlled warehousing. Completed more than 400,000sf of leasing of industrial properties including Black & Decker and Panasonic.
Sale of a 133,000sf former Haggar Manufacturing Plant to the University of Texas Pan American. Instrumental in the development of a residential project generating over 3 million in lot sales in less than 12 months and a 1.6 million commercial site sale during the same period. Brokered the sale of a former Kmart Building in Edinburg.
In 2005/2006, Brokered lease of 50,000sf to Exel Global Logistics, 10,000sf to Keystone, brokered $15.3 million land sale; Brokered sale of 248,000sf of industrial buildings to single buyer. Leased office space to HRH Insurance, Cox Smith Matthew, and United Rentals.
2007-2009 Co-Brokered sale of 120 acre site ($17.3 million to First Hartford Realty Corp for major Retail Center in Edinburg Texas. 21 acre Site ($3 million) in Hidalgo, Tx and 148,000sf Manufacturing Facility in McAllen, Texas $4.5 million. Co-Brokered sale of 75,000sf TRW building, lease space to JVC (100,000sf), Sharp Electronics (103,000sf). Co-Brokered lease 25,000sf of office and 20,000 sf of retail space, sale of land to future Mercedes Benz Dealership and hotel operator.
2010-Present Leasing Broker for Brookfield Asset Management leasing over 40K sf of Class A office space, Brokered sale of 20K AMT Bldg, Sale of former Saturn Auto Dealership, Sale of Shary Shivers Estate, Sale of 16K for GSA use; Sale of 14 industrial buildings with over 450,000sf of industrial space. Leasing of over 90,000 sf of industrial space for CIII Capital Assets, leasing a 20,000 ft.² and ultimate sale of 215,000 office building for Brookfield Opportunity Fund; Leasing of 30K sf to Freedom Fitness; sale of 10 Acres of land to Levcor for Cinemark; sale of 3 Acres of Land for Hotel project; and much more.
Nationally recognized clients include Brookfield Opportunity Fund, Sharp Electronics, JVC, First Hartford Realty, CIII Capital, Hager Pacific, and others. Primary market includes McAllen MSA, the 4th fastest growing MSA in the U.S. and number 2 in Retail Sales per Household in Texas. Markets include Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy and Starr County.
